My name is Paul Duarte. I live in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada. My wife is Lucy. Elizabeth's sister.
Recently, Elizabeth who lives in the Phillippines had a minor stroke which landed her a 3 day stay in the hospital. After that short stay, she went home, only to find that her husband had passed away from a heart attack while she was in the hospital.
Elizabeth with the bereavement and still trying to recover, had another stroke; This time a major one.
She fell into a coma that lasted almost 2 weeks.
She has lost mobility to her right side and has been released with a bill of over $5000, which Lucy and I are still owing.
Elizabeth does not have any money. And now with her husband gone, even worse. Her medical bills have started coming in and are mounting and so is her husbands funeral expenses.
They do not have top notch, free health care in the Philippines that we have here in Canada.
Lucy was at her sister's side the whole time, Sleeping in the waiting room chairs and eating cafeteria food.
In addition to the medical bills, therapy will be needed.
So, I am appealing to the public to help me raise money for Lucy's sister's medical bills and following therapy, as well as the funeral costs for Elizabeth's husband.
People don't have money I know, I get it, but everybody has a $1. And if there are people asking for donations for their cat's vet bills and getting them, I am sure that most people will value human life more than a cat.
If a thousand people donated just $1. A person in desperate need, because of lack of funds, would have $1000.
Think about that for a moment, before you blow it off as someone else's problem. What if it was your brother, sister, mother, father or friend wouldn't you do everything humanly possible for them?.
Any amount you can give will be greatly appreciated. We thank you in advance for your compassion, kindness and generosity.
